A capture by Ian Michael Spooner of Sheffield City Council removing Faunagraphic and Rocket01’s collaboration piece ‘Home is Where the Heart Is’ from the side of the building at the end of Sidney Street recently.
Rumour has it that alot of Sheffield’s street art from around this area will be removed due to a renovation of that area of the city including a Phlegm piece on the side of Leadmill also having been painted over and the Kid Acne piece next to this piece also having been partially removed with plans to fully remove it soon.
It’s a massive shame that the council have decided to do this as they are all fantastic pieces of art and really brighten up the city.
I, and I’m sure many others who love the street art community in Sheffield, hope that the council don’t choose to remove any more pieces and make the right decision to leave the art where it is.
Along with Ian’s image are two of my own images taken not long after the piece was completed.

These are two images of Phlegm pieces that were located at a very frequent site for street art recently, featuring countless number of fantastic street art pieces by pretty much every street artist located in Sheffield.Unfortunately, at some point recently, at least two Phlegm pieces at the site have been covered over. I imagine many other pieces by alot of the other artists have also been covered over. I don’t know whether the council, the owners of the building or vandals are the culprits but I know there were plans to refurbish the building the pieces were located at so I imagine the building owners have covered over them to lower the amount of people visiting the building.

Sheffield Street Art

This is a blog dedicated to the fantastic work of street artists from the Sheffield area of the UK.

I moved to Sheffield in South Yorkshire to attend university almost two years ago and the one thing that instantly blew me away about the city was the vast amount of street art that has been painted around.

I have spent many days literally walking around aimlessly just searching for new stuff and almost every time I notice something completely brand new. The feeling of finding a new, or even old, piece of street art is fantastic and this blog was created with the intention of documenting as much of it as I can.

The majority of the images that I post are my own work but of course, as Sheffield is a large area I may also use images from artists websites or other graffiti enthusiasts for more “out of the way” pieces. I will always credit the images when I do this. However, if a photo posted here belongs to you and you do not want it to be showcased on this blog, send me a message and I will be perfectly happy to take it down.

There is also the option for any other street art enthusiasts from Sheffield who may be viewing this blog to upload your own images, providing that particular piece hasn’t been featured already. If you have a piece that currently hasn’t been posted, feel free to submit it providing it conforms with the submission guidelines that can be found on the ‘Submit’ page at the top of the page.

Sheffield Street Art also has a Twitter and Instagram account. If you would like updates on when new pieces will be posted or exclusive images that won’t be posted elsewhere, feel free to follow.
Twitter: Click Here.
Instagram: Click Here.

If you have any queries or suggestions about the site or would like any questions about the art featured answered, please email sheffieldstreetart@gmail.com.

I hope that anybody who visits, whether from Sheffield or elsewhere, enjoys this blog and the fantastic art that will be posted onto it.
